From Dusk, New Dawn – Music from Temple Tribe

PH2T3R’s second “solar sounds” grant went to Temple Tribe, and today he has released a fantastic single with a solar theme, “From Dusk, New Dawn.”  I’ve been psyched about this song since I first heard the demo months ago — it reminds me of opening credits to a Bond film.

Statement from the artist

“The concept of this track is realizing the potential within yourself and striving towards that ideal. What we are trying to do is paint a picture of a dark world (The Empire of Nothing) and have the narrator/protagonist recognize self-reliance as a way to ascend above those circumstances. We’re referencing the concept of fate and destiny in a similar way, metaphorically severing the strings of fate, the threads of a profane path, that have been spun for you to create your own world aimed at your idealized existence.”

Lyrics – “From Dusk, New Dawn”

Sun won’t follow where we’re headed
Soon forgotten when embedded
In the dream
Sun can’t reach us where we’re going
Sewn to our fates, interwoven
See the seams

From dusk, new dawn
A husk, withdrawn
Humanity
Too blind to see

Sun won’t follow where we’re headed
Soon forgotten like we’ve dreaded
Feel the stream
Sun can’t reach us where we’re going
Blind to our fates, now unknowing
See the seams

From dusk, new dawn
A husk, withdrawn
Humanity
Too blind to see

Run all you like
Every path ends the same
Every string here is held
By the same hand
So run, all you like
Every path, shared fate
Every string here is tied
To the same blight

From dusk, new dawn
A husk, withdrawn
Humanity
Too blind to see
From dusk, new dawn
The ashes gone
Untangled web
A severed thread
From dusk, new dawn
The ashes gone
And now I see
The god in me
